Thomas Widlok is Professor for Cultural Anthropology at the Institute for African Studies and Egyptology and was until recently speaker of the competence area "Cultures and Societies in Transition". He has long-term ethnographic field research experiences in southern Africa and Australia and is a specialist on hunting and gathering, human-environment relations and sociality.
